The following table provides an overview of the emergency approvals issued by the Federal Office for Food Safety in 2018.
A Member State may, under certain circumstances, authorise the placing on the market of a plant protection product for a limited and controlled use in accordance with Article 53 of Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 for a maximum period of 120 days. This is subject to the condition that such a measure is necessary in the light of a risk which cannot otherwise be safely contained. Any emergency authorisation must be notified to the European Commission.

After expiry of the authorisation period, a query can be made up to 24 months from the end of the authorisation under the menu Ended authorisations, approvals and sales extensions of the last 4 weeks/6 months/12 months/24 months or, in the case of extensions of existing authorisations with applications for emergencies, under the menu Deletion of indications of the last 4 weeks/6 months/12 months/24 months.
